Merlion Chocolate And Other Singapore Souvenirs

CHOCOELF has been crafting artisanal chocolate in Singapore from 2005, and the Merlion range grew out of a simple request. Visitors kept asking for something to take home that was genuinely made here and would survive the flight.

The Merlion chocolate range

Seven Merlion bars, each built on a flavour that means something here, drawn from the food we grew up eating.

The flavours run from Kaya, made with real coconut and pandan, through Singapore Sling after the cocktail, to White Coffee, Cashew, Mango, Rose Coconut and Macadamia Raisin. The kaya bar is the one to start with, because kaya is the flavour most visitors have already met at breakfast and cannot buy at home.

CHOCOELF's Merlion range

Singapore food souvenirs that travel

Chocolate makes a good food souvenir for simple reasons. It is sealed, it is not liquid, it does not need refrigerating for the journey, and it is compact enough for hand luggage. Do follow the storage note on the pack and keep it out of a hot car boot.

For something with more presence, the mahjong chocolate box travels well and explains itself. It is chocolate moulded as mahjong tiles, boxed as a set, in 10, 15, 25 and 50 piece sizes.

Where to buy Singapore souvenirs while you are here

You will find the widest range at our chocolate cafe in Chinatown, and our bars are also stocked at Marina Bay Sands and FairPrice Finest. The full range is also on this site for delivery to your hotel.

Our chocolate cafe in Chinatown is a short walk from the temples and shophouses most visitors are already seeing, so it is easy to taste something before you decide. You can collect an online order there too, which saves waiting for a delivery to reach your hotel.

If you are buying several as office or family gifts, the gift box and hamper formats work out tidier than a bag of loose bars.

Made in Singapore, and it says so on the pack

We are glad this matters to people, because it matters to us. Everything is made in our own facility here in Singapore, and the local-flavour range came out of the flavours we grew up with.

CHOCOELF has been written about by CNA, The Straits Times, Business Times, Lianhe Zaobao, Shinmin, Channel U, Her World, Women’s Weekly, Eatbook, Mothership, FM98.7 and others.
